Editing Logs

As you may have noticed, each realm's web page has a linked page for logs. Several folks have asked for some suggestions on how to edit the raw logs from the cambots.

There are three ways to get logs up onto the web:

  • One is to just put the raw data up on your web page. This is not recommended, but it's much better than no logs whatsoever.

  • The second way is Quick and Dirty, which is the minimum necessary to make a cleanly edited log file for the web.

  • The third is Slow and Thorough, which contains the additional info on how I like to edit when time permits.

You should, of course, modify all the suggestions given for your personal preference, so that the editing habits you develop work well for you. Alternatively, if you are fortunate, and someone in your game volunteers to do the editing for you, email for another editing password specifically for your editor, and have them read these pages.
