New Title

Gala'madred says, "Ah...."

Gala'madred says, "Ah... well that was close."

Gala'madred says, "You can leave now."

Gala'madred lets Safix' arm go.

Safix blinks. "What was close? I beg your pardon?"

Safix looks genuinely confused.

Gala'madred says, "Be a good little whore and run along now. How much did he promise you for the evening's company?"

Gala'madred reaches under his cloak.

Safix looks shocked and reaches out to slap Gala'madred.

Gala'madred doesn't manage to pull his head back in time to avoid it.

Safix snarls at you, "You ass."

Safix says, "I'm no whore!"

Gala'madred pauses, his broad muscular shoulders bristling a moment. He keeps his head turned to the side for a few long moments, before turning it back to look at Safix. He reaches his right hand up to rub his cheek with the back of his leather glove.

Safix says, "Alois is my friend, and you can go (she degenerates into nasty dwarven at some length).

Gala'madred says, "My mistake... That's usually how he looks it. Regardless, his mistress is here. It would not do to have you pawing all over my brother in front of her."

Gala'madred blinks rapidly.

Gala'madred says, "I can't believe you just called me that!"

Safix hisses, "How dare you..." before the dwarven cuts back in.

Gala'madred puts one hand on his hip. "Now look, I *know* what that one means, and I can't *believe* a lady would use such foul language, even in Dwarvish!"

Safix snaps, eyes more red than green now, "I'm neither a lady nor a whore. I'm myself. I try to take people for who they are instead of appearances, personally."

Gala'madred blinks slowly. "But how do you know?"

Gala'madred says, "When you meet someone, appearances are all you have to go on...."

Safix puts both hands on her hips. "When was the last time someone called you a whore, and how did you react?"

Safix says rather venomously, "I find out by waiting and paying attention. That usually clues me in."

Gala'madred says, "Before I came to Oloth. In the Underdark. It is common there. Most Lloth worshipping Drow females treat males as nothing more or less than bed-slaves and whores."

Safix eyes you. "Granted, sometimes I'm definitely wrong. You seemed all right earlier."

Gala'madred says, "Look, I'm far too important to sit around waiting and watching everyone that comes into my city. I am a busy elf."

Safix arches an eyebrow. "Ooh. But you're not far too important to take care of your brother's whores for him?"

Gala'madred says, "I *am* all right. I'm probably the healthiest seven hundred year old elf you've ever met. I work out each and every day. I'm as fit as an elf half my age... and even then, fitter than most lazy surface bred 'artists'."

Gala'madred smiles, and chuckles softly. "No, that is what brothers do for one another..."

Safix laughs at you, with real mirth. "Poor me. I'm obviously inferior, then. However shall I bear it?"

Gala'madred says, "I know that he would distract any lover of mine were my mate or one of my consorts to come along after a long absence, unexpectedly...."

Gala'madred says, "I just said that I'm in better physical shape than more surface raised artists. Not that I'm superior."

Safix says something physically improbable about drow in dwarven, after the last comment about lovers.

Gala'madred reaches his hand up and pokes you lightly once, in the middle of the chest.

Safix bats at the hand and steps back, hissing.

Gala'madred says, "Watch it, I understand what you're saying, basically."

Safix says, "Well, you could try harder not to deserve it."

Gala'madred says, "I spent close to 20 years in my youth living with Druegar and Sveigfnafnafna (ooc: no clue how to spell, the underdark gnomes)"

Safix snaps, "Whatever the hell is up between your brother and me is just that. It's none of your damn business."

Safix pauses. "Did he ask you to get rid of me?"

Gala'madred says, "No, he did not need to."

Gala'madred says, "We have been brothers for many centuries you see...."

Gala'madred says, "You do not understand..."

Safix taps her foot, arms akimbo. "Do go on and try to make me, then."

Gala'madred says, "This is a special and delicate matter, as well...."

Gala'madred glowers at Safix for a moment.

Gala'madred says, "You won't leave if I don't tell you, will you?"

Safix smiles sweetly at Gala'madred. "Nope."

Gala'madred returns your smile for a moment.

Gala'madred says, "Well, you see, I was just concerned about avoiding bloodshed..."

Gala'madred seems to be finished with his explanation, from his patient and typically high elven 'that is all' smile.

Safix raises one eyebrow and waits.

Safix says, "Whose?"

Gala'madred says, "Well, yours and hers, obviously...."

Safix says, "I rather like Eimi. I wouldn't hurt her. Are you saying she would attack me?"

Gala'madred says, "Fine! But I don't expect you to be repeating this tale in taverns... or while gossiping in that ring shop of yours."

Gala'madred says, "Last year... Eimi was kidnapped by a jealous rival for my brother's... 'affections'... and was sold into slavery Beyond the Rift."

Safix narrows her eyes and the smile is definitely unfriendly. "You don't? I'm surprised."

Gala'madred says, "Things were... done to her."

Gala'madred says, "Modifications... They changed her, with technology akin to... mind control magic... and other vile circles of the Art."

Safix listens.

Gala'madred says, "Hmm."

Gala'madred says, "My apologies, you caught me in a lie...."

Safix keeps the smile. "It's okay, I can't say I like you much either."

Gala'madred says, "I meant that I do indeed expect you to repeat this tale in some stupid gossip fest. I was... attempting to subtly indicate that you would be punished for doing so, should I hear back of it. Mayhap I should have been more clear and... honest about my intention. Now where was I?"

Safix says thoughtfully, "You really are a complete ass, aren't you? Maybe you should go to hell, and I should just talk to Eimi sometime."

Gala'madred says, "I have been to the Abyss before."

Gala'madred says, "One day, I will likely return."

Safix says, "I certainly don't want to hurt her, she's one of the few people here who's been genuinely nice to me."

Safix says, "We can all hope."

Gala'madred says, "You really do not understand... Eimi is not always herself."

Safix pauses, and listens.

Gala'madred says, "She could go into a murderous and jealous rage without expectation should she see you drooling on my little brothers chest...."

Gala'madred says, "Or worse"

Safix says, "What do you consider to be worse?"

Gala'madred says, "She might remember suddenly what happened to her, and fear that you would try to dispose of her in a similar manner to what happened to her last year... and that might make her decide to dispose of you first, to protect herself."

Safix smiles twistedly. "I've been a slave. I disapprove of the institution..."

Gala'madred says, "Or worst of all, would be that she try one the aforementioned in a lingering fit of madness... and you would kill her. That would be worst of all, in my eyes."

Gala'madred says, "Ah, then you understand my concern for Eimi's wellbeing, and why I took you to get rid of you...."

Safix says seriously, "I wouldn't kill her. I told you, I like her. We spoke of unpleasant things, and she was very kind. I take that seriously."

Gala'madred nods

Safix cocks her head. "Does Alois have many whores, and do you have to drag them all away before Eimi arrives?"

Gala'madred says, "But I cannot be sure of Eimi, as I said, she might try to harm or kill you if she got the wrong idea while her head is... in a different space."

Gala'madred laughs softly. "No, I don't have to drag them all away before she arrives. Only those that he likes."

Safix says quietly, "Not much point that I see in having a whore one does not like, but then I'm foolish like that."

Gala'madred says, "Foolish, or just ignorant."

Gala'madred says, "My, that did not come out right..."

Safix smiles bitterly. "You care about your brother and Eimi. Might be, you're not actually that bad. Can't say it makes much difference to me right now."

Gala'madred looks down for a moment, and says, "My brother.... does not just dally with others for pleasure."

Gala'madred says, "So often 'like' has little to do with it... nor even simple lust..."

Gala'madred says, "So while you may not see the difference, it *is* there."

Gala'madred says, "if you were just another meal... I would still be inside talking to that delightfully blushing drow girl I just met at the bar. And if she tore into you, it would not have bothered me at all. Yet as I said, I know you are not just another meal as far as my young sibling is concerned."

Safix blinks, not entirely surprised at the meal part. "He feeds off... what, about women?"

Gala'madred crosses his arms over his chest.

Gala'madred says, "What about women?"

Safix says, "What usefulness am I as a meal?"

Safix says, "How?"

Gala'madred slowly raises an eyebrow. "You did not speak of it already?"

Gala'madred says, "Mayhap I was mistaken, and you are just a piece of meat hanging up to age...."

Safix says, "fuck you too" in dwarven. =)

Gala'madred looks at you with a mild and emotionless expression on his face. "That was a jest."

Gala'madred says, "He feeds off the energies of the living."

Safix bristles but backs down. "Sorry, but we didn't exactly meet on the best of terms, what with the whore business and all."

Gala'madred says, "Point well taken. I'll suffocate my dry elven sense of humor."

Safix actually giggles, then gives you a slightly suspicious, surprised look like "you tricked that out of me!"

Safix sighs. "So you're not telling me to get the hell out of town?"

Safix says, "You just want me to avoid Eimi and Alois?"

Safix looks at the brothers and takes a step back.

Gala'madred says, "No, I was telling you to get the hell out of the bard while...."

Gala'madred looks up.

Alois looks back and forth between you two. "I thought you were going to work on the SilverTree's security..."

Gala'madred says, "while she was in there. They've not seen one another in quite some time."

Gala'madred says, "Alois, you really are getting daft at times."

Safix enunciates clearly in dwarven, face very still, and flees into her shop.

Gala'madred says, "I was saving you from an embarrassing situation. Where is your Lady?"

Alois says, "Shit, Dred, what did you say to her?"

Alois says, "She's gone home for the evening to sleep..."

Alois says, "Did she lock the door?

Safix says, "nope. too upset. =)

Gala'madred says, "Sorry Alois, I didn't realize she was a friend... I tried to pay her and told her to scram"

Gala'madred shrugs.

Gala'madred shrugs. "Ah well"

Alois comes halfway up the stairs, "Safix?"

Safix has been crying. She muffles it quickly and scrubs her face.

Safix says, "I'm not here."

Safix says, "And I'm not a fucking whore."

Safix says, "And I wouldn't dream of hurting Eimi!"

Alois comes the rest of the way up the stairs, but doesn't actually step into the room, just stands on the top stair. "No, you're not a whore. I don't think that of you at all!"

Safix laughs bitterly and gulps to keep from crying. She turns to face the wall, hiding her face.

Safix says, "Your brother took it upon himself to get rid of me and pay me for my services so I wouldn't get in the way."

Alois says, "Safix, my brother was wrong. I didn't ask, nor want him to do this... I honestly thought he was going to help you..."

Safix says thickly, "So did I. So did he, sort of."

Alois says, "Can I please come in?"

Safix says, "Unfortunately, we had different things in mind... sure, why not? It can't be worse than standing in the street slapping a high and mighty elf while he explains to me that I'm a piece of meat."

Safix sounds rather depressed.

Alois says, "Safix... It's not as bad as my brother makes it sound, honestly. I don't think those things about you... I don't..."

Safix says in a glum voice, very low, "I should've picked up about Eimi, but I didn't. I would never want to hurt her, though; but I'm obviously not welcome here."

Alois says, "Is Safix sitting on the bed?"

Safix says, "yes, she is."

Safix says dispiritedly, "Maybe I should leave. Everybody'd be better off.""

Alois walks over to the bed, invitation or no and sits down on the edge. "No, Safix... That's the last thing that I want. I don't want to hurt you..."

Safix says, "What do you want, besides a meal?"

Alois reaches down to touch your shoulder, "Please don't leave, Safix..."

Safix reaches up to wipe her eyes, trying to be subtle about it, but sniffling. "Whyever not?"

Alois says, "...I don't really have anything really persuasive to offer, except that I'd rather you didn't, because I like you."

Safix laughs softly, tone very mixed. "That will probably be enough..."

Safix flops facedown onto a pillow. "I'm an idiot. I should have seen this coming."

Alois says, "Just believe that I don't think those things about you and that you're not a whore or a meal... Yes, I feed on people... I don't feed on people I care about without permission..."

Alois runs his hand across your spine. "I should have been more forthcoming about Eimi and I. I'm sorry... "

Safix tenses at first, but slowly relaxes if you keep doing that.

Safix says miserably, "Is your brother right, that she might try to kill me or get rid of me by seeing me as a threat?"

Alois says, "I... don't know... when she was taken she developed another personality. I barely know her in that frame of mind and I have no idea what she's capable of..."

Safix murmurs, "who will heal the healer?" rather morosely.

Safix hesitates. "Do you see a lot of women? Does Eimi know?"

Alois sighs, "I wish I knew, Safix..."

Alois says, "No, I don't see a lot of women. Too dangerous to get that close to people..."

Safix says, "Dangerous to you, or them?"

Alois says, "I suppose to us both."

Safix says, "I don't suppose you'd care to elaborate, since I seem to be involved?"

Alois says, "You've heard of the Velkyn?"

Safix says, "Has he kept running his hand over her back, btw? Ye didnae say."

Safix says, "Yes."

Alois says, "Yeah, he has."

Safix says, "K. Then she's been slowly relaxing."

Alois says, "I'm one of the Guildmasters of the Velkyn. You have a right to know that if this is to work out..."

Safix turns her head slightly. "'If this is to work out'?"

Alois says, "Our relationship... whatever that may be... Friendship, companionship..."

Safix nods thoughtfully into her pillow. "Both very good things... one tends to miss them when they aren't there."

Alois says, "Are you... okay?"

Safix shudders a long sigh. "Yeah. I guess."

Safix says, "T-thank you for coming to see."

Alois says, "What's wrong?"

Safix says, "I wasn't expecting most of what happened today, none of it very pleasant. I think I get to be a little shaky still."

Safix manages a rueful smile, turning on her side to face you.

Alois says, "I'm sorry, Safix, for what part I had in upsetting you... I'll do my best to be more open in future."

Safix says, "Ah... you said you don't feed on people you like without permission... so you haven't...?"

Alois says, "No, I haven't fed from you."

Safix asks a little nervously, "does it hurt?"

Alois says, "Well, I don't actually bite you or anything... Just siphon off life energy and emotion."

Safix actually laughs, softly, for real. "No biting? Pity..."

Alois chuckles, "Well, not unless you want me to..."

Safix 's eyes start to sparkle again. "Um..." She grins.

Safix shakes her head a little to get back on track.

Safix says, "Does that mean I live less long? Or is it the kind of life energy that I can spare?"

Safix sounds genuinely curious, not bothered; objective.

Alois says, "It's the kind you can spare... Mostly because I feed on emotions and not life energy, much of the time."

Safix hmms, thoughtful.

Safix says a bit shyly, "I don't mind, if you'd like to feed on me."

Safix says, "What're friends for?"

Safix smiles.

Alois says, "Thank you for that gift, then..."
