October 26

Idlewild - October 26, 2003

The party's last night at the inn is quiet and comfortable. In the morning, Lotte and Steven awake last and find the others already sitting at the table having apparently had breakfast. Soleil is lazily eating strawberries-- and has demolished about half of them-- and Seodil's plate holds only crumbs and tiny bits of icing he's chasing absently with a finger, staring at the plate thoughtfully. Aiden looks less done with his food. The buffet table contains the same assortment of fresh fruits and muffins that it did yesterday, with a few new flavors of muffin, ginger cookies, and an empty plate that holds only bits of icing.

Seodil's jacket is still on the floor, presumably covering the key.

Aiden's quite focused on his eating, apparently he didn't get up quite as early as the other two, or he's been eating more slowly, difficult to say. He's quiet and looks a bit on the tired side.

Steven enters the dining area, and pauses before heading to the buffet table. He eyes the jacket for a moment, before a bit impulsively moving over to it and kneeling beside it, consideringly.

Lotte arrives with Ghost at her side, both looking well rested. She heads over to the buffet table and helps herself to a meal for two.

Ghost scratches her left ear and looks content. Also peckish. She keeps a sharp if patient eye on Lotte's plate, plumed grey tail waving slowly.

Steven purses his lips a little, then lifts up the edge of the jacket to peer under it, hoping that the key is still there.

Lotte feeds some morsels to Ghost before saying good morning to everyone. She deliberately ignores what Steven is doing, and continues to feed Ghost and eat a little herself.

Sol looks up and smiles cheerfully at all three newcomers. She says softly, "We have about two days' travel to reach this Turning Tower mage... eat well, who knows if we'll hunt or just eat the ration bars on the way, and whether Frangipani is the kind of mage that feeds those on her doorstep."

The key sparkles golden topaz back at Steven invitingly.

Steven lets the jacket drop, letting out a breath. At least it's still there. He smiles to the others as he stands. "Good morning." he takes Sol's advice, and eats for a long journey.

Aiden finishes up what he's got on his plate and leans back in his chair. "Do we know which direction we're travelling in? I didn't catch it."

Seodil glances up from his plate at Aiden with a neutral look. "Are you finished?"

Sol regards Seodil from under half-closed eyes, quietly.

Aiden nods at Seodil. "I am."

Seodil rises, shouldering his pack, hand on his swordhilt. "I will be outside until we leave, if you care to practice your sword pattern with a partner." He walks out.

Lotte continues eating quietly, apparently off in her own little world.

Sol's eyebrows barely flicker, then she shrugs and looks at Steven. Quietly, she says "Will you be all right to carry that for the next two days, Steven?"

Aiden stands up and grabs his pack. He's eager to get on the road, antsy. He puts a hand on Sol's shoulder and gives it a squeeze. "Steven? Is your vision better now?"

Steven, while he's eating and listening, is considering their journey so far. They've travelled for three days. Hardly a blink of an eye to a full season. And yet they went from the icefields of the Palace of Blood on Snow to what looks like a day in early spring. Sol had said that their destination of the Summer Court is as much a place as it is a time. The name of their latest destination -- the Turning Tower -- is also making him seriously consider this wierd world. But if Soleil and Seodil have necer heard of it before, it's unlikely to be some kind of omphalos.. or is it? He gives a bit of a start, jarred from his reverie by Sol's quietly. Huh...? Oh! Uh.. I should be, yes, Sol."

Steven looks up and nods, smiling to Aiden. "A bit better, thanks. Everything still has a bit of a haze and.. I only see the ... 'odd' shape of people or things out of the corner of my eye now and then."

Aiden nods at Steven, "Alright. Let me know if you need a guide again, alright? I'll be outside whenever everyone's ready to leave." He leaves the inn, looking for Seodil for morning practice.

Steven nods, "Sure thing, Aiden, thank you!"

Lotte finishes eating and looks down at Ghost to make sure she is not hungry anymore.

Soleil leans back in her chair, nodding at Steven with a smile and apparently content to wait inside until everyone is ready. She watches Lotte, sideways, with a tiny worried furrow in her forehead. "Lotte? How do you feel today, about the... key?"

Ghost waves her tail at Lotte and yawns, then stands up and looks toward the door before looking back and waving her tail again.

Lotte does not make eye contact with Sol as she answers. "I'll be fine. Let's just get there fast." She smiles at Ghost and pats her head before standing.

Sol sighs, looking concerned, but nods without a word. She absently eats the top of her last strawberry and rises to pick up Seodil's jacket off the floor, dusting it off.

The palm-sized golden key sparkles in the sunlight from the window, lying exposed on the floorboards.

Lotte heads upstairs quickly to retrieve her things. She then waits at the top of the stairs, waiting to hear Sol and Steven exit the inn.

Steven sees Sol pick up the jacket, and moves quickly. "No, wait, Sol...." He bends quickly to scoop up the key -- to him, it's just an object -- and does his best to hide it form sight, tucking it into his pack deeply.

Sol starts to bend to pick it up, pauses and lets Steven get it. She nods. "I'd rather not touch it, thanks."

Sol waits to walk out of the inn with Steven.

Steven nods, smiling encouragingly to Sol, and gathers up the last of his gear before heading outside, wondering if he should hand off his quarterstaff to someone for the journey.

Lotte hears the inn door open and close, then turns to Ghost. "Ok, Ghost. I need your help. If I... if I look like I'm going to hurt another member of our party... I need you to stop me, ok? You have to help me not go crazy these next two days."

Ghost cocks her head to one side at Lotte, then puts one front paw on Lotte's leg and nods solemnly. She makes a deep, quiet "hrruf."

Lotte's eyes widen slightly as she watches the wolf actually nod, but she smiles with the affection she also feels. "Thank you so much for coming with me." She strokes the wolf's back and heads down the stairs and out the door to join the group.

Ghost huffs softly and follows close at Lotte's heels.

When the others step outside, Aiden and Seodil are facing off against each other, swords naked and in their hands. Both of their faces are neutral and there's no sound but the ringing of metal as their swords touch again and again. The movements are quick and Aiden, at least, is completely focused on it. Whether or not he realises it, he looks good doing this. Then again, so does Seodil.

Lotte watches Aiden and Seodil with some interest, but very obviously ignores Steven.

Steven watches curiously. He really feels nothing from the key; it's buried so deep in his pack that he doesn't even feel its weight. He was never a sword person, though his teacher had a few practices which used the sword; they were far too advanced for Steven, though.

Seodil's silvery white hair settles around him in a loose fall of silk and spiderweb braids as the two fighters cross swords ringingly for what appears to be the final time. His aggressively neutral expression does not change; he nods to the rest of the party as they emerge and accepts the leather jacket Sol offers back to him.

Aiden sheaths his sword and nods to Seodil, "Thanks." He picks up the pack that he left on the ground near where they were and shoulders it.

Sol sighs and hitches her pack on her back. "Well. West we go." She starts walking in what presumably is a westward direction.

Aiden follows after Sol, more than ready to get out on the road and moving again. He's decided that sitting, idle, in the inn, doesn't suit him at all.

Steven nods, and adjusts his pack a bit, before heading out after Aiden and Sol, figuring that if he's in the middle of the party with Seodil behind him, he'll be quite amply informed that he's loosing it when Seodil clocks him.

Lotte waits for Seodil to move before following the party. She spends the entire first hour of travel as far away from Steven as possible, almost hiding behind Seodil.

Seodil stays more than obligingly behind Steven at the very back of the party.

Lotte begins to feel the pull of the key sitting deeply inside Steven's pack during the second hour of travel. She speeds up and almost walks on Steven's heels, daydreaming of holding the wretched key in her hands again.

Aiden ranges out ahead of the party a bit, making sure that the path is fairly clear up ahead of them. He doesn't get out of voice range, but does sometimes get out of the range of their sight.

Steven glances back every so often, curiously, to Lotte when he feels her accidentally stepping on his heels. "Uhm.. Lotte...?"

Lotte slows her pace when Steven speaks to her, but speeds up again whenever he isn't looking.

Steven tries his best to not put too much attention on Lotte, but he's starting to think that they key had some serious effect on her throughout all this, and he's starting to wonder if he'll be able to hold himself together for the two days it'll take to get to the Turning Tower. It's starting to unnerve him a bit.

Steven starts to feel the key in his pack with a little more awareness, mostly due to being reminded of it every time Lotte trods on his heel.

Lotte feels the desire for the key lessen during the third hour. She feels relieved and walks slowly near Seodil, watching the scenery go by. As time goes by, however, the key calls to her again and she finds herself trailing behind Steven, almost close enough to breath down his neck. She also finds herself fantasizing ways to get the key from him.

Soleil calls a lunch break after the fourth hour of travel and the party rests to eat their now-familiar dried fruit-and-honey-nut ration bars.

Steven starts to get very disturbed by Lotte's behavior as lunch time looms, and he does his very best to remain polite, if a little distant, from Lotte if she continues to show an unhealthy interest in the key.

Aiden rejoins the group for lunch, apparently satisfied that they're not about to be set upon by slathering hordes of.. something. He's been doing circuits all morning, out ahead of the group, and then back to them.

Lotte eats her ration uninterestedly and feeds more than half of it to Ghost.

Ghost gives Lotte a slightly disapproving look, but eats what she's given. She nudges Lotte's hand, concerned.

Steven avoids eating much -- breakfast for him was large enough to carry him through till dinner. But Lotte's actions are starting to really annoy him. She isn't even close to him throgh the hours after lunch and he still finds himself feeling a touch angry at her.

Aiden eats the rations, bored to death with the taste of them, but at least they'll keep him going. He manages to choke it back for that alone, swearing that dinner will be more substantial. He doesn't seem aware of what's going on between Steven and Lotte, mostly because he spent the morning paying more attention to the trail.

Once lunch is through, Aiden's back on his feet and walking, ahead of the others a bit again. It's been uneventful so far, so he stays just a little closer to them, never quite out of sight, but barely. He's not entirely willing to relax, still on edge from the Redcap.

Lotte feels slightly better as they set out on the trail after lunch. She keeps well away from Steven, and doesn't even think of the key at times. Her mood slowly begins to improve.

Steven's mood, however, disintegrates a bit more. He just knows she'd like to grab hold of the key, dammit, even if she''s staying well back. She's being sneaky, he knows it. Well, he's not going to let her have it. Oh, no, not at all!

Lotte continues to cheer up as the group press on. She can think of other things than the key, though she needs to keep her eyes off of Steven. Instead, she looks at the world around her and at her other friends.

It's about mid-afternoon when Steven catches himself thinking of what he's going to do to Lotte the next time she steps onhis foot. The hell? Oh, man... maybe that key is a bit too much for me after all.... No. No, I'll get through this. I can make it. Man, to think what Lotte had to go through all this time with that key.... He takes in a few breaths, and tries to focus instead on the nice weather, which, compared to the Palace of Blood on Snow, is absolutely gorgeous.

Seodil seems content to stay behind the group, talking to no one unless questioned first.

Steven's mood improves even more, and by now he has no thoughts at all of doing something questionable to Lotte if she gets too close.

Soleil occasionally ranges ahead to talk to Aiden.

Lotte continues to pass the time thinking of other things than the key, though she stays well away from Steven.

The party eventually halts after dark, having travelled nearly eight hours. Sol eyes her ration bar and doesn't unwrap it. "Hunt, anyone?"

Lotte wrinkles her nose, hoping someone else will take the responsibility.

Aiden nods at Sol. "I was thinking that over lunch. I'd much rather not eat another one of those today. I'd rather hunt."

Steven pauses, considering. "I... probably should not be left alone with this," he pats his pack. "Just in case. I've.. had a vew stay thoughts that seemed to be influenced by that thing. I'm fine now, but it is powerful."

Sol flicks her eyes toward Lotte and Steven quietly, then back to Aiden. Quietly, she says "One of us should stay. I don't mind, if you want to take Seodil."

Aiden flicks his eyes over to Seodil. "Preference?"

Ghost makes a sound almost like a laugh and noses Lotte.

Seodil's silver eyebrows shrug. He says, "I should stay, in case I am... needed. I am stronger than Soleil. Take Soleil." He sits down and starts building a fire.

Lotte looks down at Ghost questioningly.

Ghost wolf-grins at the untouched ration bar and makes the laugh sound again.

Aiden nods and grins at Soleil. "Looks like we're hunting. Shall we?"

Steven nods comfortable, and settles down to do his evening meditations. Maybe focussing on something other than the key will get him through the night.

Sol perks up and rises. "I'm all yours. I think I'll go in fur." Unbuckling her sword, she suddenly is. The rest changes with her, vanishing with her elven skin.

Lotte whispers to Ghost, "Do you want to hunt? Feel free."

Ghost lies down.

Aiden does likewise. He sets his sword down next to Soleil's and changes into his wolf form for the hunt.

Lotte does not attempt to make conversation with Steven, but feels comfortable enough being around him and the key. She begins to get sleepy and gazes lazily into the fire.

Aiden finds chickens. Wild.. chickens. He shrugs mentally. He can't smell a farm anywhere nearby. He plucks two of the chickens out of the flock and then settles on his haunches with his catch to wait for Soleil to finish, so they can return to camp.

Sol grabs one and trots back with Aiden with a mouthful of feathers.

Seodil leans back against a tree, perfectly comfortable for all appearances. He does not speak.

Steven settles in for the evening after his meditations. He starts to feel very good about it, all in all, and quite relaxed. I can do this, I can deal with this, sure! He blinks at the catch. "Somehow that's not what I think of when I hear 'Free range poultry,'" he comments. "Did they give you much trouble?"

The fire is crackling merrily when the chicken-hunters return.

Aiden mentally grins. He picks up the two he grabbed and heads back to camp. He sets them down near the fire when he arrives, then shifts back to his elven form, still grinning.

***Ed: adjust the timing on those last few posts, please.

Seodil looks mildly impressed. "Why not the farmer, too? Too big to drag back?"

Aiden chuckles at Steven. "They fought hard." He looks serious.

Aiden shrugs at Seodil. "There's no farm near here, at least, not that we saw. They were.. roaming."

Soleil adds helpfully, "Ranging. Freely."

Steven says, "... Bizarre.""

Seodil shrugs and says, "I would not be surprised if we did find a farm in this area, all the same." He reaches to help prepare the dead chickens.

Before long, the chickens are done and fingers ready to be burned.

Aiden is quite happy to eat, burned fingers or not. He eats, then settles down for the night, after watches are figured out. He'll take a watch towards the middle of the night, when its darkest, otherwise, he sleeps quite peacefully, near Sol.

Steven manages to scorch his fingers only a little bit, and eats sparingly of the chicken though he does make sure none of his portion is wasted. After dinner he settles in for the first watch, taking his sleep afterward.

Lotte takes part in the chicken, as always sharing with Ghost. With a full stomach, she falls asleep almost immediately. She wakes in pitch dark, fully aware of the key sitting nearby. After relieving Aiden of his watch, she settles down far from Steven. As the time ticks by, she slowly creeps towards where he is sleeping, always eyeing his pack nearby. Hundreds of nasty ideas fill her head as she hovers over him, staring sometimes at his pack and sometimes down at him.

Lotte peers down at Steven, pondering how to get the key from him without him waking. As she studies his sleeping face, she starts to realize how much trouble he has gone through to help her and even begine to wonder if he has felt the power of the key as strongly as she. While part of her wants to steal it from him- even hurt him- another part just wants to hug him. Lotte suddenly realizes that she is, in fact, hugging the sleeping Steven.

Steven finds himself waking up -- what the? Something's got him? He swims up through layers of conscious, struggling to wake up. Somehow he manages to not to wake up with a violent start, and comes to blinking in confusion and wondering why Lotte's got her arms wrapped aroun him instead of his windpipe. It takes him a few moments to realize that... she's just hugging him. With a bit of a wary, confused look, he nevertheless manages to get his one free arm up to getnly hug Lotte back, patting her lightly on the back. He fails to notice Seodil looking quite amused.

Lotte jumps as she realizes that Steven is hugging her back and pulls away. In her embarassment, all she can manage is a whispered "Sorry" before scurrying back to her spot and curling up into a little tiny ball. She does notice Seodil, but assumes he is keeping his own watch. Sleep overtakes her again rather quickly.

The rest of the night passes calmly, and morning finds everyone none the worse for chickens, keys or stealth hugs.

The second day of travel passes much as the first, with the keybearer and the former keybearer occasionally at odds. No one else is affected, and the general pattern is maintained; Seodil brings up the rear, Aiden stays ahead to scout.

The trees break and reveal what look like the foothills of mountains halfway into the day, but no tower is in sight despite the increased visibility. Sol looks worried. "This is west. Where is the tower?"

Steven frowns a little, looking around. "Maybe 'tower' is some sort of metaphor...?"

Sol shrugs, looking a little helpless. "And it's... turning."

Aiden comes back to the ground. "There's an outcropping up ahead. It's about the highest thing around here. Maybe we can try there first? We might have a better range of sight from there."

The amber elf nods, looking relieved, and follows.

Steven nods to Aiden, actualy feeling alittle excited. When is a tower not a tower?

Aiden leads the group in the direction of the outcropping of rock that he spotted.

When the party reaches the outcropping, a valley appears, a few hours' travel away. In that valley is a single long, dark cylinder... resting on its side.

Steven says, "... That's not a good sign...."

Aiden points it out. "Could that be it? It's a tower.. but on it's side."

Steven squints a little. "Wait... is it turning... like a clock?"

Aiden frowns, watching it.

Sol blinks and says, "Clock?"

Steven says, "Uhm.. a mechanism for keeping track of time in the Grey Lands."

Sol says, "That turns?"

Slowly... the cylinder does appear to be moving. Clockwise.

Aiden nods, "Yes.. It turns. Rather like.. well.. that."

Soleil asks, "So this might be a wizard from your world?"

Steven nods. "It's circular, and a mechanism turns these rods on it's face in a given cycle. But I don't remember anyone making a clock... this large...

Aiden says, "Only one way to find out, right?"

Standing there silently, Seodil breaks his quiet to suggest, "The sooner we start walking again, the sooner we find out. Yes."

Steven nods. "To the centerpoint? How fast do you estimate it's turning?

Aiden says, "I'd doubt that we're going to find the door at the centre. It's probably at one end. Let's get going."

Aiden doesn't wait any longer, he starts moving again. He watches the land carefully as they go, painfully aware that in this flat spot, they're easier to see.

It takes a few hours to pick their way down the valley, and the end of the tower does move. When the party reaches it, however-- entirely without incident-- there is a door. With what appears to be a doorbell.

The door in the end of the dark metal tower is round, of the same material as the rest of the tower, and about four feet high.

Aiden looks at Steven and shrugs. "You want to do the honours?"

Steven glances wryly to Aiden, then nods. Besides, what harm could a doorbell be? He rings it.

The button presses in, to the deep ringing chimes of Big Ben. The noise fills the entire valley, deep enough to vibrate within chests, but not quite painful.

Steven frons, looking around. AS the doorbell dies away, hecomments, "I like it."

Aiden winces, "It's a bit loud.."

The door pops open to reveal a short, round, wizened brown woman with white hair. She peers up at the party from large, round spectacles. "Yes?"

Aiden smiles at her, "Hello, Ma'am."

The little woman cackles. "Oooh! He is so polite! Hello, big boy." She peers at the party behind Aiden. "Oooo. Big BOYS. What can Frangipani do for YOU today?"

Aiden is a little taken aback by that, but he presses on. "We seem to be having a magical, er, problem. You were recommended. Highly."

Steven bows politely to the woman, smling, though he lets Aiden do the talking.

Frangipani says, "Oooo! A MAGICAL problem. Mmmm. Care for tea?"

Aiden smiles, "If it's not too much trouble.."

The tiny mage cackles. "Come in! Mind the step."

Frangipani disappears into the tower, through the four-foot-high, four-foot-wide door.

Aiden does so, carefully, trying not to make a complete idiot out of himself as he goes into the small - and moving! - door.

Steven glances to Aiden, then follows, keeping his head down as he enters the horitzontal tower. He looks around with intense curiosity as he enters.

As the door is in fact moving only as fast as a normal clock's minute hand, the size is the greatest barrier... but it's manageable. Inside, the tower is lined with shag carpeting and has round, white-fur-covered furniture in a distinctly 80's style.

Aiden looks around, grinning a bit at the style. He wasn't expecting to be launched back into the Grey World, circa 1982.

A Felix clock hangs by the door on the inside wall. It's working.

The shag carpeting... is pink.

Steven thinks, Maybe Soleil was right.. maybe she is from our world. The furniture certainly didn't come out of any fantasy movie he's ever seen. HE eyes the Felix clock a bit warilly.

Aiden stops, looking at the clock and turns around to look at Sol. "That's a clock."

Sol eyes Felix. "It looks like a horrible cat."

Steven deadpans, "Not exactly the most shining example to show someone for the first time, Aiden..."

Aiden looks at Steven and shrugs helplessly. "I've always thought those were cute."

Aiden continues on in to the pink-shag tower.

Frangipani bustles back into the front room, followed by a floating tea service. She plumps down onto a heart-shaped footstool in white fur and arranges her robes as the tea set serves itself. "So!" she says a little too loudly. "Tell me your troubles, boys!" She glances at Lotte. "And girl."

The mage adds, "Oh, boys. No peeing on the carpet. Keep the wolf INside."

She peers at Steven. "Kitty."

Aiden frowns. "Singular. She doesn't see Sol as a girl?" "We seem to have picked up a couple of things on our journey that we're now having a time-- I'm housebroken." His eyes widen as he says it. It just sort of slipped out.

Steven blinks in surprise. "But, I'm... oh. You can see our other .. uh, shapes?"

Soleil falls over, she's laughing so hard.

Aiden raises a hand to his forehead, wincing. "Sorry."

Frangipani says, "Yeah. I'm a mage, kittykitty. Comes with the territory. So, what's a nice cat like you doing with a nasty piece of work like that?" She looks straight at where Steven's keeping the key.

Aiden cocks his head off to the side, looking at the woman curiously. She can obviously see more than he credits her for, even if she is going a little deaf.

Steven blinks. It hardly occurrs to him to quesiton her how she can see. "Uhm.. well, that's exactly why we're here to see you. We'd like to find some way to get rid of it before we continue our journey.

It also hardly occurrs to Steven to answer to anything but 'kittykitty' form this lady.

Aiden adds, "Or nullify its negative effects, at least."

Frangipani immediately says, "Don't want it, kittykitty-- ah." She turns to Aiden. "Hmmm. I might consider that for a cute l'il tail-wagger like you and your friends, though. Whatcha got in trade?" She... yes, she leers.

Aiden tilts his head to the side, "Actually, we have one other item that's causing us problems." He motions at Sol.

The mage brightens. "Sure, I'll take him." She eyes Soleil. "Once we get that jewelry off, prettypuppy, I bet you can do some GOOD tricks, heh?"

Steven's jaw drops.

Aiden shakes his head, "Not him. The tiara he's wearing. He's not.. negotiable." He keeps his face and tone pleasant, but is distinctly uncomfortable within.

She adds, "I can make you a bag that'll hold that key so the magic doesn't get out. It's a deal. I'll need you to get me the ingredients, it'll take twenty-four hours after that..." The mage frowns at Aiden. "Isn't he? Hmmph. Well then. I'm not sure we have a deal. What DO you have in trade?" She looks over at Seodil, speculatively. And purses her lips. "...THAT one's awful dusty."

Steven thinks, I didn't realise magic was so expensive....

Briefly-- very, very briefly-- Seodil's face is somewhere between appalled and insulted. It smooths back over fast into polite neutrality.

Aiden winces. This time its not internal. "I'm sorry, but we're not willing to give up any of our people. Perhaps there's something else that we can do for you?"

Frangipani gives Aiden a wistful look. "Not even loan?"

Seodil's eyes are mute appeal for help, though his face stays serene.

Soleil says softly, "I'm afraid not. As he said, though... do you need anything else?"

Aiden shakes his head slightly, "Sorry, no."

Frangipani snorts and says, "Well. I do have a shopping list. If you can bring me half what's on it, including the ingredients for your bag, I can make you that. For the other.... I'll need ingredients, and the other half of my shopping list."

Aiden nods at that. "Anything is better than handing Seodil or Soleil over to her.." He looks around for confirmation from the others that accepting this is alright.

Steven wonders what's on this list. SOmehow he doubts anything on it is going to be as simple to acquire as going to be 'chicken feathers.'

She plucks a scroll out of thin air and offers it to Aiden. "Some of these will require containers. I can give them to you when you take the job, along with a bag to keep it all in. Do it well and you can keep the bag when you're done... it holds a lot."

Sol shrugs barely, eyes wide.

Steven nods quietly to Aiden. A scavenger hunt works.

Seodil says nothing. Lotte looks worried but seems to agree.

Aiden looks down at the list in his hands, looking it over carefully.

The list is fairly long, but a few items jump out. "Virgin's tears." "The semen of a righteous man."

Virgins seem to be useful; blood is on there, too.

Aiden looks the list over quickly, face unreadable, especially when a couple of the more choice ones catch his eye. He looks up at Frangipani. "Well. We'll certainly give it a good shot."

The mage nods cheerily and tosses Aiden a large leather satchel big enough to stuff a rabbit into sideways. The sack looks and feels empty from the outside. "Look in there, you got containers. I might be persuaded to take some duplicates or what you can find if you end up short just a few items. Go get 'em tiger."

Aiden catches the sack and takes a quick glance inside. He looks up and smiles at Frangipani. "Thanks."

Frangipani cackles and gets up. "Sure thing, babe. Finish tea, by all means. Buzz me when you want me, baby. You know where I live. No time limit, but if you plan on taking a long trip with my bag let me know first so it doesn't explode. --Later, dolls." She walks out of the room, deeper into the pink shag tower.

Aiden looks at the bag, with about the same expression one would get holding a poisonous viper. "Great.."

Steven says, "... Ex-explode?"
