Eimi Lananmiir (Eimi)

Eimi had a rather uneventful childhood. She grew up on a small colony world called "Jacob's Planet" in a system around a yellow sun called "Jacob's Star". Her family consisted of her parents, an older brother, and a younger brother. Her father was a VP in a rail transportation company and her mother was a homemaker. Her older brother left home at 18 to pursue a career in Starfleet. The Academy turned down his application and he disappeared, devastating his family. Soon after, Eimi graduated early from High School and went into a medical university. She excelled in her studies and was advancing through the program faster than her peers. This caught the attention of an off-world academy of the healing arts and she was made an offer to attend this prestigious academy at no charge to her family.

A year into her studies, her remaining family (father, mother, and younger brother) are reportedly killed in a freak shuttle accident, the shuttle crashing into their home on a quiet evening and killing all the occupants. The pilot was never found and it was assumed that he transported to safety before the craft impacted. No one ever came forward to claim responsibility for the tragedy.

Eimi's advances at the academy caught the attention of an aging professor named Lowenthal and he decided to take her as an apprentice. He began to teach her about an area of the healing arts that she had no idea even existed: Magick. She had been learning surgical, pharmacopical, and herbal methods of healing up until that time and this opened up a whole new world of understanding for her. She trained vigorously for several years under the harsh tutelage of Lowenthal, but the reason soon became clear: he was close to dying and he knew it. He chose her to pass on his knowledge.

Upon his death, she was declared a Master in her craft and offered a position at the academy. She respectfully declined, hoping to seek adventure out among the stars and to maybe find her brother in the process. After several months of travelling, she eventually found herself on Dreamstar station. There she learned of the Cygnus Sector Authority and their unique struggle to build a new society and protect its borders. She met with the leader of the organization and, after a lengthy interview, agreed to become the CSA's Surgeon General.

She had spent over a year in that capacity before travelling to the Oloth Sphere. She'd heard that specific herbs that she was in short supply of were available there and decided to take a vacation and at the same time, seek them out. During her stay, she came down with a local viral infection and was forced to stay many months longer than she'd originally intended. Once she realized how indefinite her time in Arcana City might be, she sent a communiqué to the CSA announcing her resignation and making her recommendation for a replacement among their own number.

During and after her recovery, she met and grew acquainted with Alois Tekenduis. Over time, that acquaintance grew into something more for her and she quickly progressed through thinking him as a friend to someone she was spending an obvious amount of time with. They had been together several months when she disappeared. She'd been kidnapped by some local slavers and Alois and others looked for almost a year before she showed back up again as the property of a friend of Alois'. She was freed to Alois and hasn't made many public appearances since that time.
