Kazamora SeiichiKazamora Seiichi had always been a dreamer. This always caused distress on the part of his family, and they were always concerned that he would never be able to focus on things. Seiichi's father, Sei, and his mother, Aiko, had Seiichi fairly late in life. Seiichi has two sisters who are five and seven years older than him. The eldest is married to a man who moved to Kyoto, and the second sister is in university in Tokyo. Growing up, Seiichi's propensity for being a dreamer made it so that he was somewhat distant from his sisters; while they looked out for him, they didn't dote on him. As time passed, Seiichi started to work more and more with his father in his fishing endeavors. He started by repairing the nets and other fishing equipment, and eventually, in his early teens, going on to the small boats which the village uses almost exclusively in lieu of motor trawlers. Though never the strongest of people, Seiichi did develop a good manual dexterity, and skills needed to not only survive but to also thrive on the coastline. His school life was fairly unspectacular. While a passable student, his dreamy demeanor alienated him from many of the other children, and he was the butt of more than a few jokes. When he utterly failed to recognize most of the jokes being pulled on him as such, however, the bullies moved on to more emphatic pranks. Unfortunately for them their actions attracted attention -- Gensai Daichi decided a decisively violent response was called for to prevent bullying. While this caused Daichi to be avoided with silent, shocked horror, Seiichi was, again, for the most part left on his own. All this quite dramatically changed for him at the start of high school, when during one of his almost-but-not-quite-late-for-class meanderings brought him into the school machine shop. Most of the students there ignored him, as they usually did, but he made an almost-random comment about how one of the structures being worked on looked like a bird. Normally this would garner him ridicule, but as it happened, the creator of the structure in question rather liked the idea (even though it was a more practical structure than a mere sculpture). Seiichi had met Nakayama Akina. Akina and Seiichi took a liking to one another, though their relationship developed slowly, even by formal Japanese standards. By his second year, however, he would be eating lunch with Akina and her friends, and they spent more and more time together. Seiichi came to be a little more social, though it took some effort, and in general while he remained quiet and reserved he began to be somewhat less so. |
