The game is of the 'superhero' genre. The core concept is that
the players have, literally, woken up one morning with various powers
and abilities, albeit without the initial skill to properly use those
powers. The game takes place two months after that day, by which time the
players have achieved some familiarity with the use of their powers.
The game-world is 'medium' as far as brightness goes; the players
are 'hunted,' but with the proper use of their wits, abilities, and
cooperation, they can stay comfortably ahead of the hunters.
I hope to emphasize problem-solving in conjunction with power-use
for conflict resolution. The players' task, then, is to stay ahead of
the hunters, to use their powers in whatever ways they are moved to do
so and, if they become so inclined, to investigate why they have these
powers. There are other twists and structures to the plot which will
not be immediately visible to the player-characters.
The player-characters will begin independent and unconnected. It is
my plan to run a series of short sessions to introduce the characters
to one another and help the players develop their characters, so that
when the game proper begins the characters will already have a history
together. I also plan on working with the players, individually and as
a group, in the character creation process.
