Procedures with GMs or Players

With luck and gentle insistence on mature behavior, we'll hopefully never have to go this far.

  1. Ask the GM in a friendly and non-threatening fashion in the OOC area about when the issue will probably be resolved.

  2. After a week to 10 days have passed, ask politely in email for the GM to please remedy whatever the issue is.

  3. After a week to 10 days has passed, ask them who is responsible for whatever issue we're discussing. This can be either email or in the OOC realm.

  4. After a week to 10 days has passed, go to the game before it starts, and ask who's the player responsible for the issue in question. Doing this in front of the players gives them the opportunity to volunteer to fix things, if they wish.

  5. After a week to 10 days has passed, send a polite email to the game's mailing list. This email should ask for whomever is responsible for the issue in question, so an admin can talk with them in order to speedily resolve it.

  6. After a week to 10 days has passed, send a polite email note to the game's mailing list. It should regretfully announce that on such and such a date (probably at least a week to 10 days in the future) the game will unfortunately have to be closed down, unless someone can assume responsibility for whatever the unresolved issue is.

  7. After this date occurs, send a polite, regretful email to the game's mailing list stating that this game has unfortunately had to be closed down due to lack of response on the issue in question. Then close the game down.

  8. To close the game down: change the GM's password and the log editing passwords. Don't discuss the issue with folks not associated with the game -- we don't want to promote an environment of speculation and gossip.

  9. If individuals associated with the game wish to discuss how to resolve the issue, stay open to discussion with them. It's entirely possible the game can be opened up again if things are straightened out, which would be a good thing.
